Unleash Your Imagination (and mine!)

Let's make it thoroughly readable, suspenseful and entertaining
... for language, I have been working with novelists, screenwriters, students and marketing departments for 25 years. I offer a personal service tailored to your requirements and budget. I will help you remove the telltale signs that reveal you to be a new author and promote your work to the next level or assist in the development of your ideas and themes, delivering your cleanest work possible while retaining 'your voice'.
Proofreading
This is essentially a final comprehensive sweep, to include correction of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors in manuscripts, documents, marketing/advertising materials, newsletters, journals, reports, websites, features, screenplays, etc. Often, the weary author may be 'too close' to see mistakes.
Copywriting
Creating text, often to accompany imagery, for marketing and advertising materials, book covers, websites, synopses and so on.
Editing
A full edit includes proofing, but also offers more in-depth advice regarding overall story, structure, characterisation and themes, to put a final polish on your work and make it publisher/agent-ready. This close read of your manuscript also flags any inconsistencies, ambiguities and repetition that inevitably preclude readers enjoying your prose without interruption. I will make comments and suggestions, or pose questions, to enhance the overall flow, effectiveness and construction of your work.
Narration
I am currently working on my fourth audiobook and loving every minute of it. Here is where my theatrical background really comes in handy!
My English parents, taking up an opportunity to escape bleak winters, moved to the Bahamas (for work!), where I was born. After several years in Freeport and Bermuda, my family moved to the US, where I was enrolled in a school that had an amazing theater program. Through my studies and lots of time spent on stage, I came to love the elegance of the English language, its complexity, its richness. Later, during my university years, I was exposed to the more avant-garde, modern uses and realised its flexibility, playfulness and colour. I earned two degrees at Tufts University (History/Theater). An amazing year at the Sorbonne was also part of my academic career.
Working life (in both the US and UK) has taken me from acting and screenplay editing to copywriting, proofing and editing of corporate marketing materials, websites, press releases, advertising, and now, to novel editing and audiobook narration.
My chat with BBC Radio Humberside regarding THE GHOST OF CAPTAIN HINCHLIFFE by David Dennington and the 100th anniversary of the crash of Airship R38 into the River Humber.
